Hey again

So this is the part where you hear about me and decide if you vibe or not. In the event that you don't vibe with me, thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day. If you're intrigued please read below and hear my story.

This is my mum's favourite photo of me as a kid (thought everyone should know) along with some other shots from the ol' family album.

My Story

I was born near Sydney but grew up in a small country town in QLD which has only 3 roundabouts and no traffic lights. I was an outdoorsy kid that started dance when I was 6 and fell in love with performing on stage. At 13 I came to realise that acting was my calling. I was a fill in actor because my dance school didn't have enough drama students for the show we were doing and so I became the cowardly lion in "The Wiz". I only had 3 lines but as soon as I got out on stage I forgot them and improved my way out of it. Let's just say I had a few more than 3 lines by the end of the scene.

After that performance I enrolled for drama classes and took ACTL exams with Trinity College London and received my teaching diploma at the age of 17. During that time I was in high school and had a part - time job a McDonalds which lasted for 6 years (so much respect for those who work in customer service).

I moved to Sydney in 2019 for uni and to follow my dreams. Will I survive? Who knows but I am excited to explore the wide variety of performance styles that live in Sydney. I'm very passionate about movement and dance in theatre because I believe that actions can speak louder than words. I also think that movement in film is just starting to be re-explored. I'm not necessarily meaning musical numbers in the middle of a movie. I'm fascinated in the way that camera movements in relation to an actor's movements can have an effect on a story. This is something that I would like to bring to the industry and hope to develop this idea with fellow movement lovers.

So that is pretty much me in a nutshell. If you do want to get to know me more, pop your details in the section on the home page and I'll get in touch!

Testimonials:

"I wanted to commend you on your performance of Margaret and Officer 2 in Twelfth night - which I saw in the Saturday night performance. Your scene with Toby and Andrew were consistently the funniest." - Michael McLennan

"Miriam is an incredibly hard worker and this hard work was an asset in the rehearsal room. She came in with a great maturity and professionalism that should be commended…. She is an excellent ensemble member and should be congratulated on her wonderful and specific work in the rehearsal room.

Miriam did a wonderful job in her dual role of Auntie Pie and Jesus. Her dance background helped to create a physical confidence in Auntie Pie that was very useful for the role. It was wonderful to see her grow in confidence throughout the run to create two very well-tuned performances." - George Kemp

"What a triumph your performance was! A completely inventive, believable, focused, and captivating performance. Your commanding presence was palpable. You are an incredibly generous actor who truly listens – what a gift. Biggest congratulations!" - Lotte Latukefu and Hailey McQueen
